Mediocre? You don't get into the rock and roll hall of fame if you are mediocre. Saying Iommi isn't a good guitar player is about as dumb as Arb saying Sabbath sucked because he listened to one show and didn't like it.

Besides, you probably think barely passable at best guitar player Steve Kimock is good. Which proves beyond a shadow of a doubt what a dipshit you are.

A lot of shows with sweat loaf. And the Butthole Surfers were an intense live experience back in late 80s - one of those bands whose influence will grow well beyond the number of folks that actually listened.

Always struck me that members of the GD seemed to be a lot more open minded about different types of music than many of their fans...

You hit the nail on the head there Bluedevil. Hell, just look at some of the garbage Relix used to push and people would buy up in droves. I wouldn't just limit one track tastes to just DeadHeads though. Reminds me of a quote I read from henry Rollins. Something along the lines of if the kids want to get turned on to good music they should try raiding their parents LP collections. Made me think of how many Punk fans listen to JUST Punk, or any fan of genre etc.

Rollins kicks ass!!! I was lucky enough to see him many years back opening up for Gwar in Hollywood. If you ever get a chance to read one of his poetry books, 'Art To Choke Hearts' Read it. It's excellent.

I remember a Gwar song that had a lyric, how do you hide money from a hippie? Put it under the soap.
"We are Gwar, We will go far, We have guitars." No that right there is some bad lyrics.
